Depot CMS

Content Management Made Easy

Depotfest

'Tis the season to be consuming lots of beer, however, I've been busy working on Depot quite a bit, in what I call Depotfest.

To celebrate Depotfest, I've ported a new theme called agregado, which is currently live on Code Army. I've also been working hard on the documentation of the API, which is used to integrate Depot's functionality into templates. It's pretty simple, with a few hairy parameters on a couple of functions, however, for the most part, I think you'll like it.

In Depot usage news, my old flash site has now been finally brought over from Wordpress, along with the Gaming Podcast site, GameGab, being approved to switch as they themselves are going through a facelift of sorts.

Stay tuned for more ....

  • Just a little bit ...

Just a small update on Depot ... it's all going well, I decided to coincide this small update with a new look for Depot (vine-cafe was starting to look stale) and here is illacrimo.

There have also been a number of fixes under the hood with the Depot core and HQ.

  • Our first commercial site, FlatBrazier.com wanted to have a new look, so we created this new layout for them, using a modified version of the template networker.

They're also using our new photo Gallery. I've always use Gallery2 and it's served me well to a point, but this product is unweidly and bloated, so I decided to create a basic photo gallery framework for Depot.

This gallery was originally developed for the re-release of PBDB.net.

  • Template in 20 Minutes

Public Holidays are great ... I got up and thought, what shall I do with Depot today and I decided I would give the site a new template (vino-cafe) by converting a wordpress theme, also adding to the ever growing pool of Depot templates.

Pretty soon, I'll have to work on a module to show off all the templates ...

PS. Oh and in the afternoon, I also got the Google Adsense and Google Analytics modules up and working.

  • I managed to get some downtime over this weekend to put some more work into the Wordpress Importer and successfully migrated one my sites - Node Monitor, a BeOS/Haiku blog I've been running since 2005.

Originally, it was a Blogger site, then a Wordpress blog, now Depot. It's also using the Beautiful Day template.

  • Say hello to our latest client, The Flat Brazier Company.

If you're into caravans, then this product is a must buy, after all it's the *First Brazier* that can be easily packed up and put away. The site is also using the latest theme - redtie.

  • Along with a bunch of tweaks here and there, I've now implemented a feature I've always wanted in other CMS software. I call this feature Auto links.

Auto links is basically a way of specifying a given set of text (word or words) and applying a hyperlink to that selection. This way you can write your blog entry and then add the links later and it will "auto" link them. Cool eh ?

Oh by the way, I've also launched a new site, VMX Bandits, which uses a new Depot theme called mushblue.

  • Happy Australia Day !

I just spent the afternoon working on the Wordpress Import functions and I successfully converted one of my sites across to Depot.

I've also added MP3 support via Wimpyplayer.
